Police have launched an investigation after a serving police officer and a child were found dead in a house.
Following concerns about the well-being of a man and a small child, West Mercia police said officers attended a speech on Carando Drive in Kidderminster.
A 39-year-old man and a three-year-old child were found dead on arrival, the force said.
Police say the deaths are currently being considered unknown.
The 39-year-old man found by police was a serving officer at West Murcia Police Station.
Assistant Chief Constable Rachel Jones said: “It is with great sadness that I share the news that a serving police officer and a three-year-old child have died.
“While the circumstances of the deaths are not fully known, it is clearly a tragic event and our deepest condolences go out to the family and colleagues.”
