Coronation Street star Anthony Cotton has praised England captain Hurricane Kane for walking the Wimbledon pitch wearing a proud armband.
Anthony, who plays Weatherfield Favorite Sean Toli explains why it was necessary to wear a rainbow band during England’s clash with Germany.
The actor, from Beverly, took to Twitter to thank Kane and the national team in a dynamic message.
He wrote: “Wearing a Harry Proud Armband is an easy thing to do, but for so many young LGBT people looking for acceptance, acceptance and belonging, it can be a huge task for them. ۔
“It also sends a message around the world that the UK is indeed a great place. Thank you @HCain and ینڈEngland Football.”
Kane and Germany captain Manuel Neuer both donated rainbow bands at the end of Pride Month in partnership with LGBTQ + parties around the world.
Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month is celebrated in Manhattan in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising.
The Stonewall riots, also known as the Stonewall Uprising, began in early June 28, 1969, when New York City police raided the Stonewall gay club in Greenwich Village.
The Stonewall riots served as a catalyst for the gay rights movement in the United States and around the world.

England fans tweeted his praise when they sent England to the quarter-finals with a 2-0 win over Germany.
“England captain Rainbow Band makes me happy,” said one.
