A couple who met on the dating app during the lockdown got engaged and bought a house – all within eight weeks of the meeting.
And as far as stormy romance goes, it’s beautiful there.
Emily Morgan, 27, and Jamie Molinux, 29, trailed Tinder in July 2020.
The couple went on their first date in a few days and immediately made things ‘official’ – Nurse Emily reunited Jamie with her family the next day.
Matters became even more serious when Jamie questioned their relationship for eight weeks in October 2020 and a day later the couple accepted an offer in a house.
The couple is now happily living in their three-bed semi-bed house in Darlington, County Durham, and plans to tie the knot in January 2023.
“It’s been a hurricane,” Emily said. “We’ve had such a big relationship since we started talking.
“It simply came to our notice then.
“We’re living proof that dating apps can really work.”
Emily, who lives near Wagon, near Lancashire, says it was a “love at first sight” with Jamie, but it is possible she may never meet him.
“We’re just like that because I went to see a friend at the time,” said Jamie.
“I was in the right place at the right time. I definitely fell for Emily first, I was trying to hold back a little bit.
“It was like Robbie Williams’ song, I was worried about it: ‘Saying stupid like I love you’.”
He added: “Two weeks before I left for Edinburgh, I was quickly capturing my feelings. I knew I wanted to make a suggestion.
“I had to ask her twice because she was reading the board on the bench and didn’t listen to me!
“Emily is crazy all the time – I need her positively in my life.”
Emily decided to go to the dating app in July 2020 and after the exchange through Tinder, she was related to Jamie, who was coming to the area.
The pair hit him immediately and arranged a date a few days later in August 2020, and within hours of the meeting, the couple made things ‘official’.
“Jamie lives in Yorkshire so we usually never meet,” Emily said.
“It simply came to our notice then. He was in my tender – it was pure luck.
“We met for dinner at the Black Pool. All we knew was that it was going to happen.
“The next day he ended up meeting my mom – it was crazy but it felt right!”
In a matter of weeks, nurse Emily moved 100 miles to North Yorkshire to be close to Jamie, and the couple offered a home.
On the occasion of Jamie’s birthday, the loving couple visited Edinburgh, Scotland in October 2020 and Jamie proposed.
A day after the proposal, he discovered his home offer.
“Jamie hinted at L’s suggestions but I thought he was joking,” Emily said.
“He took me for a walk around Colton Hill and suggested – it was very romantic.
“I can’t wait to start my life with him.”
