The current East Bengal coach has been linked with Real Madrid Castella in two different phases.
East Bengal have revived their love affair with Spanish managers as the Red and Gold Brigades have terminated Robbie Fowler’s contract for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season. Has appointed his head coach.
His first Spanish manager was Alejandro Menendez in the 2018-19 I-League season, followed by Mario Rivera Campsino. Like Menendez, the current coach has a history with Real Madrid’s Castella, the European giants Real Madrid’s reserve team. Diaz was in charge of the side in two different stages. He also worked with Real Madrid’s Juventus Bay Side (under 19) early in his career.
In 2008, it took over the reins of Navalcarnero, which is currently ranked fourth in Spain. He first joined Real Madrid Castella in November 2013. After being in charge of 28 games, he somehow managed to stop relegation for the development team. In July 2014, he joined Ponfradina where he worked with Chelsea goalkeeper Capa Arizabalaga.
He returned to Castella in October 2018 and was working as an assistant to Santiago Solari. However, in November, when Solari was called up to lead the senior team, Diaz Castella came to the hot seat.

The versatile right winger trained to play for Real Madrid during his 2013-14 season at Castella. He has 167 caps for Madrid and 15 goals for the club.
The center-back failed to make his mark at Real Madrid. After graduating from Castella, he was a regular face in La Liga, playing for Rio Vallecano, Malaga and Real Sociedad. He is currently trading with Leeds United in the Premier League.
Pecheau was the first-choice goalkeeper during Diaz’s Castilla era in 2013-14. The goalkeeper started Real Madrid with a 5-0 win over UE Carnela in the Copa del Rey and also traveled to the FIFA Club World Cup as an unused third-choice keeper. Although he did not win at Madrid, he has had first-team minutes at Alvas since 2017.

The Madrid-born striker honored his skills at the Castilla under Diaz in 2013-14. He scored seven goals and provided two assists this season and was awarded the first team call-up in 2014-15. Although he could not find his footing with Los Blancos, he was in great form for Espanyol last season, scoring 23 goals in 37 games to take his side back to La Liga.
The striker started Castella on January 18, 2014 with a 2-1 defeat against Pujing Gajun in the Seagunda Division under Diaz. He was to replace Raؤl de Tomas for the last five minutes. After a successful tour with League One side Olympic Lyon, he returned to Real Madrid and remained part of the team.
The Chelsea goalkeeper was Ponfradina’s first-choice goalkeeper in the Segunda division during the 2014-15 season. He kept seven clean sheets this season.
