After months of rumors – and we thought it was canceled – the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is real. This is the 2018 follow-up. MI Mix 3., And a lot has changed for Xiaomi in three years.
The Mi Mix line is an attempt to make Xiaomi all-screen phones – devices where the display isn’t broken by a large mark or bezel, and there’s no cutout for the camera. The Mix 3 had a pop-up component that hid the front camera, but the Mi Mix 4 does something different.
That’s right, this is the third imaginary phone to use an under-display camera, after two ZTE phones, so the selfie taker is literally hidden under the screen.
That’s not all, though – it looks like a new premium smartphone with top specs in many departments. Okay, mostly but not everything, because the handset has some lightweight camera features that don’t seem to be the flagship at the top of it all.
- what’s this? Xiaomi’s latest smartphone.
- When is it out Interestingly, it was not mentioned.
- How much will it cost? Chinese prices promise a premium phone.
Release date and price of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 launched on August 10, but the event was only in China, as were other Xiaomi launches. Following its previous launches, we may see a revelation in a few months for the rest of the world – or the handset may only be sold in China.
In China, the phone starts at 4999 euros for 899 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, and the price changes to around 7 7,770, 5 560, AU 0 1,050.
Although the company’s prices are higher in other regions (except in the United States, where Xiaomi doesn’t release its phones at all), if the Mi Mix 4 gets global availability, it will be priced premium.
A CNY 5,299 (approximately $ 820, £ 590, AU 1 1,110) for high specs A CNY 5,799 (approximately $ 890, £ 650, AU ، 1,220) with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage ) The model has 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and a Super 12GB RAM and 512GB storage device with 6,299 CNY (approximately 70 970, £ 700, AU $ 1,320) device.

Design and display.
As we mentioned, the main selling point of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is its ‘cup’ as Xiaomi calls it, or ‘camera under panel’. It’s a selfie camera that sits at the bottom of the panel at the top, and the LEDs seem to be small in this area for convenience.
The screen is 6.67 inches AMOLED, which is a size largely taken by Xiaomi, and it supports HDR10 + and Dolby Vision. It has a resolution of 2400 x 1080, which is full HD + and pretty standard for smartphones.
It’s a screen that’s curved at the edges, although the tapering looks quite soft so don’t expect a Huawei Mate or Motorola Edge type shield.
The body is made of Corning Gorilla Glass vixen, a sturdy form of glass used by some smartphones (including Xiaomi). Of course, glass is not the hardest material in the world, but it is the best version of it. There are gray, white and black versions of the device.
On the back, the phone has a square camera piece that looks like a mix of. MI11. And MI11 Ultra.Panel – It sticks too much, but does not cover a very large area of the back. It doesn’t look like Xiaomi has found a memo in our Ultra Review about how annoying such thick camera collisions are.
The handset has a USB-C port but no 3.5mm headphone jack – no wonder there – but unlike many smartphones, which have three separate pieces on the front, frame and back, the Mi Mix 4 There is a unibody design so they are all a continuous part
It looks quite premium, and can probably make things a lot tougher, although it will add to the cost.
Camera and battery.
The front camera on the Mi Mix 4 – hidden under the display – is a 20MP shooter. This type of camera hasn’t been as good on other phones that we’ve tested, so we’re anxious to see if Xiaomi has solved the problems they’ve had.
There are three cameras in the back. The main one has a 108MP resolution and has an 8MP periscope snapper for 50x digital zoom and a 13MP ultra wide camera. These camera features are our best indication that the Mi Mix 4 is not a premium phone everywhere, as it is yellower than the Mi 11 Ultra.
The battery is 4,500mAh, which is a reasonable size, although the battery life of the handset will depend more on the optimization of software like this cell size. Although charging is impressive, because the phone uses 120W, which is a special thing that reaches very few devices. Expect the device to be empty in 20 minutes or less.
Wireless charging is 50W, which is fast again, although Xiaomi phones have used this spec before, so it doesn’t matter.
Features and characteristics
It looks like a powerful phone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset, an Android processor available at launch.
An overheating issue with the Snapdragon 888 Mi11 Ultra made it surprisingly weak if used for a long time, however, we hope that Xiaomi has found a solution to this problem or we It will be difficult to get the most out of MI Mix 4. Chip set
It looks like Xiaomi has spent a lot of time detailing the built-in cooling system in the MI Mix 4, and it looks like the phone will stay cool a few degrees Celsius during heavy use and charging.
As with all Xiaomi phones, the Mi Mix 4 will likely use MIUI, the company’s Android fork that comes with some customization options and a different design to stock Android. MIUI is quite small, but some fans find it customizable and appealing.
