The sci-fi-inspired story of the 8th season of Fortnight has now moved on to its next chapter.
This means there will be a new load of content for players to enjoy – including new weapons, tools, questions and more.
Chapter 2 of Season 8 brings the players into a new alien battle where they are fighters when Sloan double crosses us and lets us die at Mothership.
One consequence of this great betrayal is that the Cubes who run the Mothership have now been released and have brought with them a whole new threat to the island.
These serious cubes seem to be more malicious than the aliens as they spread the effect of a dark, ugly and monstrous dimension.
Known as “The Sideways”, this world is connected to the island through portals and brings new places of interest (POIs) for players to discover.
Here’s a breakdown of the new content available to players in Chapter 2 of Season 8 on Fortnight.
The brand new Cube Monster will release a new type of crafting element for players to use to create new weapons.
Cube monster parts can be used to upgrade sideways weapons, such as sideways rifles and sideways mini-guns that suffer additional damage when they reach their limits.
These weapons can be pulled out irregularly and a heavy punch can be packed so make sure to hold them throughout the game.
Global effort against cubes.
Players will now join the global effort to combat the new threat to the island.
To help direct the fight against them, players will be able to build bridge stations on the island, which they can do by donating bars earned in the game.
Epic Games has indicated that further progress in global efforts will come in the future, including new weapons.
Some new tools are coming out of storage, including harpoon guns and automatic sniper rifles to help players turn the tide of battle with new strategic possibilities.
Despite the addition of Cube Monster Parts, players can collect nuts and bolts to upgrade various weapons.
Possibilities include converting an assault rifle into a secretly assault rifle or lever action shotgun into a charge shotgun.
Party questions and cartoon cards.
The islanders have a new set of questions for players that can be tracked through their punch cards filled with missions.
A new mission includes Dark Jonesy, who seeks to unravel the mystery behind the Cavaliers facility.
Party questions are now available to allow players to complete questions in groups, they can be picked up by chatting with residents or phone booths – they will also appear on the daily login.
Prizes from Party Quest will be distributed to your party because you will complete them all together, meaning the more players in your party, the better.
