Philip Schofield and Holly Wolfby are on fire for a ‘sad’ start this morning.
Fans are accustomed to joining the bright and cheerful ITV program every week at 10 o’clock.
But on Wednesday, the audience was greeted in the studio by Holly and Philip – but in black and white.
The extraordinary star also included dramatic music as the words ‘winter is coming’ appeared under the hosts.
Then, footage of yesterday’s government Corona virus press conference was played on screen.
Accompanied by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty, and Chief Scientific Adviser, Sir Patrick Valence, attended a Downing Street briefing on the government’s Winter Cowade project.
Within that, “Professor Whitty said:” Winter is coming and people should really take it seriously. “
After that moment of the press conference, he turned to Philip, who said: “Winter is coming, he’s absolutely convinced of it.”
Holly smiled and replied: “They can’t stop it. It’s a fact. One of the few facts we can live with on a solid foundation.”
Philip continued: “Speaking of a Plan B, 7,000 hospital admissions a day; more than at this time last year … weird because we have a vaccine.”
Holly then asked: “How can this be?” Before Philip said: “How can they be so sad?”
But this morning Viewers weren’t impressed.
“It’s great to see Holly and Phil pull Mickey out of Chris Whitty. How lucky they are not to be affected by this global epidemic.”
Another said: “Your program resumes today: perhaps a little more respect for the fact that more than a hundred people are dying every day in Kuwait. Families are grieving for their loved ones every day. How is that? You Joking with people? “
