Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okaye has been named Sparta Rotterdam’s Player of the Season for the 2020-21 campaign.
O’Keefe helped the Rotterdam outfit at No. 8 last season with his eye-catching performances among the sticks.

The German-born goalkeeper received the award from former Sparta Rotterdam midfielder and coach Hank Weinstein on Wednesday morning before joining the team’s training camp.
“Sparta Rotterdam supporters were given the opportunity to vote for their Player of the Season, a choice won by Maduka Okaye.” Read the club statement.
“The goalkeeper, who has played 28 league games and kept his goal clear 10 times, received the award from Hank Van City this morning.”
The elimination of his eighth position at the Arduino led to Castle Lords qualifying for the Europa Conference League playoffs, but he eventually lost to Feyenoord, who sold his only qualifying ticket.
Aussie, who was born in Dسلsseldorf, began his football career at Bayer Leverkusen Academy between 2012 and 2017, moving to Fortuna Dسلsseldorf to become a professional.
After several unsuccessful attempts by Nigeria to bring him into the national team, the 21-year-old finally accepted his voice in August 2019 when he was invited for an international friendly match against Ukraine.
He made his debut against Singapore in Singapore two months later, replacing the injured Francis Ozo in a 1-1 draw.
Okoye has become the first-choice goalkeeper of the Super Eagles, having played six of his last seven matches, most recently in a double-header friendly against Cameroon in Austria.
