An accident between two cars at the junction of a major route has caused great delays.
The A665 Bury Old Road has been blocked where it meets Scholes Lane after a collision between two cars.
Emergency services arrived at the scene around 4.20pm to help police, firefighters and paramedics.
All approaches to the junction have seen queues forming, affecting heavy traffic in the area.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area, and look for alternatives where possible.
Posting on Twitter about the collision, Transport for Greater Manchester said:
“For the time being all the delays, please resume your journey if possible
“Local bus services may also be delayed.”
It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured in the crash, but photos from the scene showed both drivers able to get out of their vehicles without having to be evacuated by fire.
Emergency services are expected to continue to affect nearby routes.
