Emergency services were called to report a road traffic collision between a pedestrian and a van on Park Road just after 2pm on Monday (September 6).
Staff from Greater Manchester Police, Northwest Ambulance Service (NWAS) and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) all attended the scene.
Photographs of the scene show a van colliding with a metal fence under a nearby railway bridge.
The NWAS confirmed that three people were taken to hospital with minor injuries after the incident, which took place near Mason’s Park.
A spokesman for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) added: “At around 2.40pm on Monday night, September 6, a fire engine at the Wagon Fire Station was involved in an incident involving a van on Park Road, Wagon.
The crew arrived quickly and used hose rails and expert equipment to secure the scene.
Firefighters were at the scene for about 40 minutes.
As a result of this incident, Park Road was closed in both directions and local bus services were resumed.
Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for information.
