Along with the warning, surface water is likely to flood and disrupt travel.
But it’s not all scary because some bright spells will break the dark clouds.

The northeast of England and Scotland may wake up to the rain, but the rest of Britain will wake up to clear the sky. Clouds will cover throughout the morning. From mid-morning, heavy rain and thunderstorms will affect large parts of the country, including the Midlands, East of England, Southwest England, Northwest England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
In the middle of the afternoon, temperatures in eastern England will rise to 25 degrees Celsius, which is lower than in recent days. The Midlands will see temperatures around 22 degrees at 4 p.m. Glasgow will look 20 degrees, as will Belfast at the same time.
Thunderstorms and rain are forecast across the UK. Thunderstorms are expected in Scotland at 11pm. Caution is advised when traveling.
