India’s move to provide millions of doses of Coronavirus vaccine as a gift to neighboring countries is being praised worldwide and it has brought relief to the neighbors involved in starting the vaccination campaign.

China had laid the condition to share the cost of clinical trials
According to the Hindustan Times report, in October 2020, China approached the Bangladesh government to sell its Synovac company’s ‘Coronavac’ vaccine and wanted to deal with it.
One condition of the deal was that Bangladesh would have to share the costs of the Coronavac clinical trial that took place here, although Bangladesh refused to let it go forward.
The government of India gave 20 lakh free doses, made a deal of 3 crore doses
After this condition of China, Bangladesh turned to India and the Government of India not only provided 20 lakh doses of ‘Covishield’ vaccine of Serum Institute of India (SII) free of cost but also in the deal of thirty million doses with SII helped. Of this, 3 million doses have already reached Bangladesh.
India’s help was in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise to Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
India has also provided vaccines to these countries for free
Apart from Bangladesh, India has also provided some doses of corona vaccine free to neighboring countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Mauritius, and the Maldives, and seven of them have reached 5 million doses.
India has announced to provide free vaccines to Bhutan with a population of 7.7 lakh. Apart from this, Pakistan is also looking for a way to buy Indian vaccines.
